A recent interior design photography assignment took me to the traditional resort town of Interlaken situated in the mountainous Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland.

The town is built on a narrow stretch of valley between the emerald waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Even with a camera it’s a challenge to describe just how vibrant the colour of the water is; you have to experience it with the naked eye.

Apparently it’s all down to glacial deposits and water purity – which is drinking quality!

Suffice to say the commission, capture of a contemporary interior design of a modern lakeside apartment, was a success. Green accents matching the hue of surrounding waters and brass trims along skirtings and fireplace have been woven into the design by the award winning Interior designer, Almas Shamsee, of Maisha Design.
